Despite the sluggish domestic startup climate, Skystar Capital decided to move bold with its international expansion. While actively scouting for promising startups and founders in Indonesia, the venture capital firm is broadening its horizons to back high-potential founders across Southeast Asia and the wider Asian region.
Skystar Capital’s commitment to building a global network is driven by a series of strategic regional initiatives designed to discover innovative business solutions from international founders.
Most recently, Skystar Capital co-hosted the FL (Founders Launchpad) Match & Socials in Singapore on June 3, 2026. This exclusive networking event was a key highlight of Singapore’s AI Week (SuperAI).

Co-organized with several regional venture capital firms, the event served as a major hub connecting high-potential startup founders with leading Southeast Asian investors. The highly anticipated gathering was supported by Google Cloud, KMC Solutions, 917Ventures, and Aspire, with corporate sponsorship from industry giants including OpenAI, Databricks, Xendit, and The Hive Singapore.
Prior to this, on May 12, 2026, Juvenco Pelupessy, Principal of Skystar Capital, was a featured panelist at the SEA VC Outlook for Vietnam Market in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He shared insights alongside Nam Nguyen (Partner Development Manager at Google Cloud) and Khoi Tran (Principal at Access Ventures), in a session moderated by Truong Giang N from Bespin Global.

In addition to analyzing the future outlook of the startup ecosystem in Vietnam and the broader region, the event provided a platform for Vietnamese founders and entrepreneurs to pitch and explore funding opportunities with international investors.
Skystar Capital’s expansion also extends beyond Southeast Asia into major Asian tech hubs:
- South Korea (April 29-30, 2026): Participated in the Gyeongnam Science Art Technology / Global Startup (GSAT) 2026 at the Changwon Exhibition Convention Center.
- Hong Kong (April 13-16, 2026): Attended InnoEX 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). As Asia’s premier tech and innovation expo, the event brought together 550 exhibitors from 21 countries.

Christopher Josua, Head of Communications and Partnerships at Skystar Capital, explained that starting this year, the firm is aggressively looking for scalable business ideas from founders across Southeast Asia and other parts of Asia. This focus is reflected in their recent footprint in Singapore, Vietnam, South Korea, and Hong Kong.
“Moving forward, we aim to deepen our collaboration—not just with founders, but also with incubation and acceleration programs, as well as peer investors across Southeast Asia and Asia,” Christopher said in an official statement on Saturday (June 13, 2026).
However, Christopher emphasized that Indonesia remains a core market. “Our commitment to backing homegrown Indonesian founders remains unchanged. We are simply expanding our scope to include Southeast Asia and the broader Asian region.”
